Role:

We are seeking a part time Project Officer to work with the Scottish Government, Scottish public bodies and deaf organisations to improve equality of opportunity for deaf and deafblind people, by supporting public authorities and others to implement a range of measures which will bring about the necessary improvements in equality of access and opportunity for deaf and deafblind people.

The post is funded by the Scottish Government Equality Unit for two years.

The successful candidate will have an understanding of, and passion for the needs of deaf and deafblind people, experience of working with government and public bodies, excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong grasp of progress measurement.  Fluency in BSL would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will work with the other two Project Officers who have been appointed to take up their posts on 11th November 2013.

Scottish Council on Deafness (SCoD) is the only Scottish umbrella body representing the interests of Deaf sign language users, deafblind, deafened and hard of hearing people.
