About the service
Our Green Skills Centre offers group training and development work to young people and other groups at risk of experiencing homelessness. We realise that many 'at risk' groups can suffer from a nature deficit and sense of disconnection which can intensify and compound the struggles people face. We aim to be a restorative and supportive influence. We offer workshops, accredited training and client-led learning pathways. Our learning work includes sustainable horticulture, market gardening, woodland skills, peer-mentoring and outdoor-education.
About the post
This is an exciting opportunity to be coordinate and help shape our new Green Skills project. You will work closely with the Green Skills Centre team to deliver courses to recent school leavers, many of whom are likely to have gained few qualifications while at school. You will ensure young people are supported throughout the course and will build relationships with each group. The role will include recruitment for the course and ensuring all delivery is done in a person-centred way. You will work with the young people during and after the course to identify the most appropriate next step for them such as further education, training or secure employment.
About you
You will be experienced in working with young people and have experience, or an understanding of mental health and the challenges young people face when leaving school.
Your ability to build excellent working relationships will enable you to motivate young people to engage with the service. You should also have an interest in green skills, land, animals and the environment.

Over the last decade there has been a significant decline in the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people, with CAMHS recording an increase in referrals; in the first quarter of 2023, 10,500 children and young people were referred in Scotland. With a significant need to widen awareness of mental health and wellbeing within schools to support young people, SCCR’s Emotional Health and Wellbeing Lead plays a vital role within the team. Our Food Education team is passionate about cooking, teaching people about the health benefits of using fresh ingredients and passing on budgeting tips for keeping food bills as low as possible whilst eating well. We also place enormous importance on the social benefits of cooking and sharing a meal with others.
We deliver a range of programmes and accredited training from our in-house cooking classes to accredited REHIS (Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland) courses including food hygiene, food and health, cooking skills and REHIS/Cyrenians Joint Award Good Food Good Health.

The Edinburgh Resilience Programme, inspired by the Edinburgh Wellbeing Pact, works with people aged 60+. We work holistically to support clients to; discharge from hospital, access suitable housing, food, energy security and welfare. Cyrenians WiSH project is an exciting new partnership with Resonance, a social investment organisation, which is purchasing homes for charity partners to provide to vulnerable women. Since 2017 Cyrenians has been running the Visitors’ Centre at HMP Addiewell. We are committed to supporting families affected by imprisonment. Our centre is open during prison visiting times and we offer families who visit Addiewell a space that is therapeutic, fun and supportive.

We support up to 11 participants at a time to live within our therapeutic community, where we provide a supportive and safe space.
During the day, participants attend the NHS Lothian and Edinburgh Abstinence Project (LEAP). This is an intensive programme for those who want to stop drinking or using drugs. The programme is delivered over 12 weeks and participants attend a structured programme Monday to Friday.
In the evenings and on weekends we provide support, a friendly ear, and therapeutic activities to the community.

About the role
Our Board of Trustees are responsible for overseeing our governance, setting our strategy, and ensuring that we’re accountable and administered effectively. Our Treasurer is a key part of our Board, and takes the lead at Board level on:
· Ensuring we keep proper accounts and monitoring our financial performance
· Ensuring that we have robust and effective financial controls and policies
· Keeping the Board informed of its financial duties and responsibilities
· Liaising with our external auditor
· Supporting our Director of Finance and Corporate Services
· Ensuring statutory returns are made to relevant regulators
Time commitment
We currently hold 2-hour Board meetings every six weeks, which you can join in-person or online. This is also a finance committee meeting before each Board meeting, which the Treasurer chairs. You will also have the opportunity to attend further internal and external events for learning and connection.
About you
You’ll be experienced and skilled in accounting and business management, and keen to use these skills to monitor and ensure our financial plans and sustainability as our Treasurer. You’ll have a positive, pragmatic attitude which will help you to work collaboratively with the rest of our trustees and our staff team.

About the role
Based within our Community Connections Team, Cyrenians is looking for proactive, passionate people with lived experience of homelessness. We’re offering a 1-year fixed term contract, up to 16 hours per week (we are flexible to individual circumstances). The aim of the role is to give those with a lived experience of homelessness a range of work-based skills over different homelessness outreach and prevention services.
This diverse role will offer you an opportunity to gain work-based skills and participate in a bespoke training programme. By working alongside multi staff disciplinary teams, you will work with those encountering multiple complex needs, getting a flavour of how this is delivered across different homelessness services. Our person-centred approach means the post is tailored, enabling you to offer your own experiences of homelessness, to help improve the programme design and delivery.
About you
As this is a varied post we don’t expect you to have experience in all the areas it covers!
You will have experience of homelessness and the support services that help those navigating the homeless system. You will be expected to use your own experience to assist others who have had or are in contact with homelessness services.
This might mean supporting people to attend appointments, or engaging with people who are accessing services.
Your most important attributes will be your proactive attitude, enthusiasm for learning and flexibility. You’ll also be a great communicator and will approach everyone you come into contact with compassion and understanding.

Our unique approach integrates residential/day volunteers alongside our residents, offering a peer-support model. Volunteers live as community members acting as mentors and are fundamental to the unique service we provide.

This role is designed to keep our volunteer model running smoothly and attract new volunteers. With support from the Administrator, you will oversee the recruitment process, liaise with a range of stakeholders including: potential volunteers, sending organisations, visa sponsorship organisations, funders, and more.
You will also ensure that the volunteers have an effective induction, and receive support and training during their placements with us. These volunteers provide vital dedicated support to our service and this role is an exciting opportunity to strengthen our model.

The Community Links Worker programme aims to support people to live well by strengthening connections between community resources and primary care. It’s funded by Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership’s Integration Joint Board (IJB) and delivered in partnership with GP practices and the 3rd sector.

Working in select GP surgeries in Falkirk East (Grangemouth) and Falkirk Central you will provide one-to-one person-centred support to people in contact with the GP practice team. Your role will be varied and you will work with individuals to enable them to identify personal outcomes and priorities for their health and wellbeing and link them to local and national support services and activities.

Cyrenians City Community provides accommodation for up to 7 young people who will have experienced a tough reality, potentially as a consequence of family breakdown, homelessness, drug or alcohol issues, or poor mental health. Our unique approach to supported accommodation helps young people to develop their skills and build supportive relationships.

Our office is based within Arnotdale House, Dollar Park in Falkirk. This post supports the management of people on community payback orders. The focus is on creating and managing a programme of gardening and landscaping activity for those on payback orders to participant in.
We support a maximum of four people at a time to help create and maintain beautiful gardens for the hospital and local community to enjoy.

About Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution
Family relationship breakdown is one of the biggest causes of youth homelessness.
We work with young people and families experiencing conflict which is affecting their relationships and lives, including providing mediation and activities. We also provide free training and events which support professionals to better understand conflict, emotional needs and relationships.
About the role
The Emotional Health and Wellbeing Lead is a new post created to ensure that we are able to continue to evolve our work and extend our reach. The postholder will be responsible for taking forward our work with children and young people within Cyrenians’ Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution (SCCR). The role will deliver on our earlier intervention strategy to tackle youth homelessness and our work to transform the emotional and human cost of conflict.

The Senior Keyworker will lead the delivery and implementation of arts-based activities at Creative Natives designed to support wellbeing as well managing a small team of keyworkers. About Linburn Walled Garden
Cyrenians is in the process of signing a three-year lease with Sight Scotland to manage and develop the walled garden at Linburn, West Lothian. The site is 5,000 square meters and already grows a variety of herbs, wild garlic, orchids and vegetables. The garden is well positioned and in an accessible location close to Cyrenians’ farm, Sight Scotland Linburn Centre, the Military Museum Scotland and Wilkieston Legion Hall. This site offers great potential for further development as we look to expand on our seasonal growing and a range of wellbeing nature-based activities. Cyrenians are the lead partner in Live Life which is a partnership working together to help veterans and their families and carers with their mental and physical health.
About the role
We are looking for a flexible and inspiring Garden & Volunteer Wellbeing Coordinator to come and be part of an exciting community walled garden project. You will have experience of supporting staff and volunteers and be able to assist with the project management of the ongoing development of the garden. Helping ensure that the development of the garden is completed within the seasonal timescale. This is initially a 18-month position with a high possibility of extension as we look to develop the space for health and wellbeing activities.

About the project
The Community Links Worker programme aims to support people to live well by strengthening connections between community resources and primary care. It’s funded by Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership’s Integration Joint Board (IJB) and delivered in partnership with GP practices and the 3rd sector.

Working in select GP surgeries in Falkirk East (Grangemouth) and Falkirk Central you will provide one-to-one person-centred support to people in contact with the GP practice team. You will work with individuals to enable them to identify personal outcomes and priorities for their health and wellbeing and link them to local and national support services and activities.

You will have experience of working with people who are experiencing complex social and emotional circumstances, and a strong understanding of the challenges faced by people living in areas of deprivation. You will use your excellent interpersonal skills to deliver effective one-to-one work as well as make connections with other organisations.

Cyrenians Communities are at the very heart of the organisation and are where it all started. Cyrenians was founded in 1968 with the creation of our City Community followed by the Farm Community in 1972. The Walled Garden is one of our Cyrenians public facing services, where we support people on Community Payback Orders to put back into the community and develop their own horticultural skills.
Set in a public space of half an acre within Dollar Park, Falkirk the garden is highly valued by the community, and is a home for events, volunteering and enjoying the tranquillity it has to offer.
About the role
As Garden Coordinator you’ll contribute to designing and managing a creative and interactive garden and programme for those engaging with our services. You’ll be surprised at how many opportunities you’ll have to perfect planting, bring new ideas and share your enthusiasm and garden knowledge with others. As you’d imagine, there are plenty of chances to get your hands dirty – and it’s safe to say you’ll never be bored!
You’ll also support, engage and manage a real variety of people to help us we meet our aims, including a small staff team, people on community payback orders and community volunteers.
About you
You’ll be an experienced garden coordinator with a dynamic ‘can-do’ attitude and a genuine interest in gardens and working outdoors. Your optimistic, forward-thinking outlook will help you to nurture an environment where people feel safe, valued and have a purpose as well as ownership of their own journey plan.
As you’ll inspire participants to achieve their future goals, it will help to have knowledge of the Justice system, and like us, you’ll be values-led and relationships-based in all that you do.
