About the role
As our Head of Services North East, you will provide operational and strategic leadership with overall responsibility for our services across the North East of Scotland. To achieve this, you will build effective partnerships both internally and externally with stakeholders in delivering our Turning Point Scotland Strategic plan. Your role will include:-
- Direct line management and supervision of Service Managers
- Develop and grow relationships with local partners and commissioners in delivering high quality services for the people we support
- Contribute to tendering, retendering and framework opportunities
- Ensure that all operational systems, policies and procedures are fully implemented, and best practice is maintained
- Work in partnership with Director of Operations, Director of Finance, Director of BDI to ensure the sound and efficient financial management of all services
- Audit and manage significant budgets including making tough decisions regarding budget savings, restructuring or reallocating resources
About You
You will have experience of working at senior management level within the Social Care sector, with the ability to demonstrate leadership characteristics of: vision, creativity and innovation, self-leadership, collaborating and inspiring and empowering your management team.
With your Leadership abilities you will provide management and supervision to your Service Managers. Utilising your knowledge and experience of working within the Social Care Sector from either Homelessness, Alcohol & Other Drugs, Learning Disabilities, Justice and Mental Health.

As Head of Services there will be regular travel to the services where the Service Management teams work for a range of meetings and visits. We recognise the benefits of being flexible as an employer, and so we are able to offer an element of hybrid working on a non-contractual basis. This is something that we are happy to chat about during the interview process. A driving license and access to your own vehicle is essential.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and help shape and develop our work with disabled people across Edinburgh and the Lothians.
We’re looking for an experienced payroll officer who is ready to progress into a managerial role. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, providing day-to-day leadership & guidance to our payroll and financial management service teams to ensure accurate, seamless, efficient, and timely execution of our payrolls in accordance with UK laws, regulations and company policies, and drive process improvement/standardisation across payroll activity.
Our Payroll Team currently provides a comprehensive, computerised payroll service for an average of 650+ Personal Assistant Employers who are employing around 1,000+ Personal Assistants per month. The Personal Assistant Employers figures continue to increase at a steady rate. The number of PAs employed fluctuates monthly.
The Financial Management Service provides financial support of holding bank accounts in service users’ names to ensure that they can access SDS care packages. This service means that we ensure all payroll is paid on time and correctly, we also support the service user with the management of this account. The number of service users can also fluctuate however, an average of around 150-200 service user’s access this service per month.

With demonstrable experience of working in a similar role, you will have pragmatic and highly organised approach. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, and you will need great IT skills, including MS Excel and Word. This role directs Trussell Trust’s policy and public affairs work in Scotland and Northern Ireland, leads our Scotland and Northern Ireland department as they support our network of food banks and works strategically with key partners to tackle the underlying reasons why people need to come to food banks.

We are currently looking for an Independent Living Officer to support an established team whose joint approach is to provide an inclusive service for service users in all aspects of Independent Living.
Ideally, you will have some experience and understanding of Self-Directed Support and have current experience of managing a caseload, working one-to-one with individuals.
You will use your communication skills to support our service users.
Ideally, you will have previous experience of working within a similar environment and you should be a quick learner.
After initial training in the office environment, this post will be a mix of office, home and outreach based working.
